What Procedure Day Actually Looks Like
Both techniques follow a similar overall day: consultation and planning, donor preparation with local anesthesia, extraction and recipient site creation, then implantation and aftercare — typically 6–8 hours total for a full case. Because it’s a longer day, we provide lunch for our patients partway through, so you’re comfortable and taken care of from start to finish.
Which One Is Right for You?
If you’re mainly working on a hairline, facial hair, or a smaller area, Manual FUE’s doctor-controlled artistry is often the better fit. If you’re addressing a larger area of thinning or balding — generally 1,500+ grafts — ARTAS® iX’s consistency across a high graft count tends to be the stronger choice.
